Equipment/Tools for Fiber Clay

Tesseras and Found Objects, Marbles, mosaic pieces, stones, shells, metals and trinkets:
Mixed media if you want to incorporate these into your sculpture.



 



Linesmen Pliers (with large cutting circle and square ends) - use these to make your tacks.

Long nose pliers use these to form the wire.


Wire cutters/ tin snips, strong ones for hardware wire.

Leather gloves or prickle proof gardening gloves. If you like to take your gloves off a lot looser leather ones are best. If you dont take off your gloves alot and like a tight glove the garden type (Atlas) are best.

Welding Gloves or Rose Gloves work great when cutting wire to protect your hands and arms.


Surgical gloves are needed for handling the cement clay. Note find the tbest fitting gloves as possible to get the best hand finish on the surface of your top coat.


 

Old blanket/Padding, tarp, and a piece of plywood to take your sculpture home. Larger sculpture pieces can be left for a few days to fully cure and dry before moving.

Sunscreen-hats.

Warm/Layered clothing for weather/

Extra work clothes because your going to get messy.

Coveralls
